Our Story

Hi, we are Laura and George Mingozzi-Marsh. Hastings is our home. It is where we live, work, raise our children and take part in a creative community that continually inspires us.

Creativity has shaped both of our working lives for more than 20 years. We founded Amici Studio and In The Studio CIC to put that experience to use alongside the artists, neighbours and organisations around us, and to explore ideas that have mattered to us throughout our careers.

We believe the arts are for everyone and should feel open, welcoming and fun. Creativity can bring joy, improve wellbeing and give people ways to express themselves, explore ideas and connect with others. Everyone deserves opportunities to observe, participate and create; to experiment, fail and try again.

We also believe that artists and organisations become stronger and more sustainable through collaboration, shared knowledge and mutual support. Working together can generate unexpected ideas, introduce people to different creative practices and help resources and opportunities reach further.

Based at Amici Studio, In The Studio delivers artist development, learning and community participation programmes. It is our way of putting these beliefs into practice and contributing to the creative life of the place our family calls home.
